| | i experienced similar to what you described.....and more in the 90's at a place called shelterwood. I admired ALL parents that pulled their kids from the program. I'd love to connect with a parent that has dealt with this more recently...since it HAS only made my existing problems worse. the place was manipulative exploitive and hid parental abuse for $$$ i could keep going...i still suffer from the 15 months there and continued institutions because of things not my fault. i applaud your initiative to get your daughter out immediately and i hope you were successful. I am 33 and was locked up in 1997 for 15 months even though I didn't do a thing wrong except was a natural threat to my parents con-artist occupation. if you ever see this, please email me and put a subject line so i dont think you are spam. thank you for posting. its encouraging. its scary. its real. |
