Psychiatric Hospital CEO Target of Probe: Indiana authorities
are investigating whether the top administrator of a troubled psychiatric
program in Allegheny County violated state regulations in that state. An
Indianapolis woman contends Southwood Psychiatric Hospital CEO Lisa Machado
practiced counseling without a license at Resolute Treatment Facility in
Indiana. The Indiana Attorney General's Office is investigating. Machado
joined Southwood as CEO in September.
Earlier this month, Pennsylvania
welfare officials downgraded operating licenses for three Southwood
facilities to provisional status. The Allegheny County Department of
Children, Youth and Families responded by removing seven children who had
been placed there for treatment. |

I have a son who was in a facility called
Resolute in Indianapolis Indiana. Their therapy is extremely abusive.
Parents are threatened with being reported to the courts if they do not
get " on board" with the program. Asking any questions is considered not
going along with the program. CEO Lisa Machado performed my son's
diagnostic and evaluation. She is not licensed and only had a master in
education from a texas university. Clearly, this was a conflict of
interest. Machado also acted as my son's sole therapist. My son was
forced to undergo a six hour polygraph. This facilty attempted to sever
the parent child bond citing I was an over protective mother. When we
reported the licensing issue to the courts, my son was kicked out of
this facilty and I was labeled a barrier to treatment. My son went on to
two more treatment centers before being released into our custody. I
currently am acting pro se' in a medical malpractice suit against
Resolute. The Indiana Attorney General has been investigating this case
for three years. Resolute and their so-called therapy is harmful to
families and the children in their care. I have kept documents, recorded
phone conversations and very detailed notes.I would like to see them
added to your list.

| Facility for teen boys at risk to close, merge with Resource by: Stephanie Zepelin Posted: Dec 19, 2018 / 07:54 PM EST INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Big changes are coming to the sister property of a center for troubled teens. I-Team 8 reported extensively about Resource Residential Treatment Facility, a live-in facility for kids and teens with a range of psychological and behavioral issues. Its sister property in Indianapolis, Resolute Treatment Center, is shutting its doors. Resolute is a live-in and group home facility for teen boys struggling with sexually maladaptive behaviors. Resolute faced much of the same criticism as Resource has: issues with staff, lack of resources and escaping kids. RELATED COVEAGE: New CEO makes changes to youth facility after I-Team 8 reports Brady Serafin, the CEO of Resource, told I-Team 8 that Resource’s parent company, Acadia Health Care, decided to close Resolute and merge their operation with Resource. Resource is located near Fountain Square. According to Resource’s website, its main location is on the west side of Indianapolis, with three group homes in Indianapolis. Soon, both programs will operate under the Resource umbrella and under their new CEO, Brady Serafin. Of the merger, Serafin said: “Acadia Health Care has made the decision to consolidate operations of it’s residential treatment centers in Indianapolis. The Resource Treatment Center will absorb the Resolute program. This merger is contingent upon state approval and because of this the time frame for this consolidation is very fluid. “It is the hope that this consolidation is done with as little disruption to the youth we serve, their families and the staff of both facilities. As we continue to walk through this process we will provide additional information.” This merger still needs state approval, so there is not a specific time frame for when it might happen, although two sources told I-Team 8 its set for sometime in January. The Indiana Department of Child Services said 11 Child Services wards are currently at Resolute. Child Services said they will work with placement agencies to relocate kids to other facilities if needed.
